What is #NOPE?
No Ongoing Participation or Engagement
#NOPE is a simple defensive tool for shutting down propaganda, trolls, bad-faith comments, and bot-driven manipulation.
Use it. Share it. Stop feeding the bullshit.
#NOPE means No Ongoing Participation or Engagement.
What #NOPE Is
#NOPE is a refusal to participate in the distribution of propaganda, trolling, and bad-faith content driven by bad actors and bot networks. These systems are designed to provoke engagement so algorithms will amplify their narratives. Platforms reward interaction, not truth or intent. #NOPE works by denying that fuel. When engagement stops, coordinated manipulation collapses and echo chambers expose themselves.
#NOPE — Core Tenets
- Bad actors and bot networks require engagement to operate. Without replies, reactions, or sharing, their reach collapses.
- Algorithms amplify interaction, not truth. Arguing, correcting, or mocking all fuel distribution.
- Repeated narratives and memes are not debate. They are scripted outputs designed for mass transmission.
- Do not act as an amplification vector. Refuse to carry, extend, or legitimize coordinated content.
- Refusing to engage is the countermeasure. No reply. No reaction. No share. Block or ignore.
- Echo chambers should be exposed, not challenged. Let bot networks and bad actors talk only to themselves.
